IMEG is seeking a Civil Project Manager to join our team in Leesburg, VA. In this role, you'll lead civil engineering projects from design through delivery while working closely with clients, engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams. You'll have the opportunity to manage projects of varying complexity, mentor junior staff, and help deliver innovative engineering solutions that make a lasting impact on the communities we serve.

This opportunity is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys balancing technical design with project leadership while continuing to grow their career in consulting.

What You'll Do

  • Lead civil engineering design efforts as the Project Manager or Lead Engineer for low to moderate complexity projects while supporting senior staff on larger, more complex projects.

  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Perform and oversee engineering calculations including hydraulic calculations, traffic projections, piling and rebar calculations, and site earthwork balancing.

  • Lead the design of water and sewer systems for private developments and municipal infrastructure projects.

  • Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, and stormwater management designs for commercial, industrial, and residential developments.

  • Coordinate permit applications and approvals with local municipalities and regulatory agencies.

  • Utilize engineering software and design tools to prepare calculations, specifications, and construction documents in accordance with applicable codes and IMEG quality standards.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding project goals, communicating technical information, and providing responsive project support.

  • Coordinate project planning, staffing, scheduling, and budgeting while monitoring project progress, percent complete, and fee performance.

  • Conduct engineering analysis, evaluate design alternatives, and develop practical, innovative solutions.

  • Perform design reviews and implement quality control procedures to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with client requirements.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, planners, and project managers, to deliver integrated project solutions.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers while fostering collaboration and professional development within the team.

  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, design standards, and best practices.

  • Identify project risks, communicate concerns proactively, and work with senior leadership to resolve project challenges.
