THE ROLE

The Civil Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for creating and leading a local aviation civil engineering group to help expand our local service offerings to aviation clients in the region. The Project Manager will be responsible for growing market presence, develop a local team, and serve as the project manager to champion and lead the planning and design of airport projects for clients across a spectrum of project work from facilities, terminals, runways, air traffic control towers, navigation, and airspace studies to water, gas, and power design and analysis. These responsibilities include:

  • Expertly collaborates with aviation clients to grasp project vision.
  • Oversee and lead the engineering project lifecycle from planning to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Utilize engineering design software for reviewing and editing design plans and modeling.
  • Applies FAA and airport safety knowledge in project work.
  • Evaluate quality assurance and quality controls on project work within the team.
  • Analyze system deficiencies and provide improvement alternatives to meet project goals.
  • Applies technical writing skills for Request for Proposals, report writing, project specifications, and memorandums.
  • Ensures precision and safety through meticulous design.
  • Tackles design challenges creatively, resolving complex problems.
  • Engage with community members, government officials, and other stakeholders to communicate project goals, address concerns, and gather input.
  • Develop, inspire, and mentor reporting personnel.
  • Stays aware of federal regulations that impact the aviation industry.
  • Partners with the regional director and operations managers to identify and pursue new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and expanding market presence.

YOUR STRENGTHS
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering or equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Minimum 4+ years' of demonstrated US-based experience with civil engineering airport design/construction projects required
  • Engineering design experience with general aviation and/or part-139 airfield clients required
  • At least two years (2) experience serving as a project manager on civil airport projects
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation required
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or able to obtain soon after hire
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in conjunction with engineering licensure is preferred but not required
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations and airport safety
  • Understanding of engineering design software (e.g., Civil3D, Blue Beam)
  • Proven client growth mindset and ability to pursue new client development
  • A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record is required for periodic travel
