Description
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer (Engineer-In-Training) to join our Site Development team. In this role, you will support the design and permitting of diverse projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments. You will work under the guidance of Professional Engineers (PEs) to transform raw land into functional built environments by preparing comprehensive site plans, drainage reports, and permit applications.
Annual Base Salary: $66,000 - $81,000

Requirements
Core Responsibilities
  • Engineering Design & Drafting: Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop detailed site layouts, including geometric horizontal plans, utility profiles, and pavement sections.
  • Grading & Earthwork: Perform topographic analysis to design site grading and drainage patterns that ensure public safety, accessibility (ADA compliance), and efficient earthwork balances.
  • Hydraulic & Hydrologic Analysis: Assist in the modeling and design of Stormwater Management Systems, including detention facilities, water quality treatment structures, and storm sewer conveyance systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Permitting: Conduct research into municipal zoning ordinances and technical standards. Prepare and submit permit application packages to local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Technical Reporting: Draft comprehensive drainage studies, utility feasibility reports, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) to support project approvals.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (architects, surveyors, and MEP engineers) to resolve design conflicts and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Construction Support: Review contractor shop drawings and submittals, and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) to ensure construction aligns with the approved design intent.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Certification: EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification preferred, or a clear path to obtaining it within 6 months of hire.
  • Technical Proficiency: Foundational experience withAutoCAD Civil 3D is highly preferred. Exposure to modeling software like HydroCAD, StormCAD, or PondPack is a plus.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts through both written reports and verbal presentations.
