The initial assignment is expected to last 12+ weeks, with project activity potentially slowing during the heavier winter months and ramping back up in the spring. Depending on project needs and performance, there may be an opportunity to extend the assignment or transition into a full-time position.
Due to the remote nature of the location, candidates already in the area or those comfortable traveling to the region are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspections of civil construction and project activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress and quality of workmanship in the field.
  • Identify potential issues, deficiencies, and deviations and communicate findings to appropriate project personnel.
  • Review project documentation, drawings, specifications, and other construction materials as needed.
  • Document daily field activities, inspection results, progress, and observations.

  • Support the project team with additional field and inspection activities as needed.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Civil Inspector or in a comparable construction inspection role.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction practices, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential construction issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a field environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, project management, engineering, and field teams.
  • Willingness to work in a remote Wyoming environment and accommodate project schedules.

Preferred Experience
  • Oil & gas, energy, industrial, pipeline, or heavy civil construction experience.
  • Experience working on remote or large-scale construction projects.
  • Senior or Lead Civil Inspector experience.
  • Experience coordinating inspection activities or providing field leadership.

Compensation & Schedule
  • $55-$65/hour starting range, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.
  • Candidates with significant oil & gas, heavy civil, or Lead Inspector experience may be considered up to $60-$65/hour.
  • $100-$150/day per diem, 7 days/week, for eligible traveling candidates.
  • Initial 12+ week contract assignment.
  • Project activity may slow during the winter months and increase again in the spring.
  • Potential for project extension and/or full-time employment based on project needs and performance.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Immediate opportunity with a new project in the La Barge/Big Piney, WY area.
  • Competitive hourly compensation with per diem available for traveling candidates.
