Familiarity with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis tools is highly beneficial. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills help EITs collaborate effectively and manage project documentation. Their responsibilities can include assisting with project design, preparing reports, conducting site inspections, and performing calculations. Becoming an EIT is an important step towards becoming a fully licensed professional engineer (PE) in the civil engineering field.
