Description

Civil Engineer (Houston, TX): Performs civil engineering duties for projects and related business initiatives so that a full continuum of services is created and structured in response to client needs and United Consulting objectives. Performs the daily operational and specialized needs of all civil engineering project development to include civil engineering programs and projects. Executes all the objectives of the strategic mission and business plan by implementing the directions provided by the management team in the field of civil engineering.

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have the following:

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following fields of science:  Civil Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or another similar science degree 

• Strong communication skills
• Position entails approximately 80% fieldwork and 20% office with occasional travel.

Experience preferred but not required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be able to pour concrete into cylinders and transport it to the vehicle and the laboratory. These cylinders can weigh up to approximately 30 pounds each.
  • Must be able to manually hand auger in the soil to obtain a soil sample.
  • Must be able to carry various kinds of equipment that weighs up to 50 lbs. from the vehicle to and from the job sites.
