Job Description Scheduling Manager - Heavy Civil Construction Location: San Antonio, TX (Austin, TX will also be considered for the right candidate) About the Opportunity A leading ENR-ranked heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Scheduling Manager to join its Texas operations. This is a confidential opportunity to lead scheduling efforts on some of the largest and most complex transportation infrastructure projects in the state, including highways, bridges, aviation facilities, airport expansions, and major roadway improvements. The Scheduling Manager will partner closely with Operations, Project Management, Estimating, and Executive Leadership to develop, maintain, and analyze schedules throughout the entire project lifecycle.

This individual will play a critical role in driving project success by ensuring schedules are accurate, proactive, and aligned with contractual milestones. Experience supporting major Texas DOT (TxDOT) and aviation projects is highly preferred. Familiarity with Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) projects, taxiways, runways, airside work, or airport expansion programs is considered a significant advantage.

Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and update CPM project schedules from preconstruction through project closeout. Build detailed baseline schedules utilizing Primavera P6. Analyze critical path activities and identify schedule risks, delays, and recovery opportunities.

Perform schedule updates, progress analysis, and earned value reporting. Prepare recovery schedules and time impact analyses when necessary. Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and Executive Leadership.

Review subcontractor schedules for compliance and integration into the master schedule. Participate in schedule review meetings with owners, engineers, and project stakeholders. Assist operations teams with resource loading, manpower forecasting, procurement planning, and sequencing.

Support pursuit teams with proposal schedules during preconstruction. Ensure compliance with owner contract specifications regarding scheduling requirements. Preferred Project Experience We're seeking professionals with scheduling experience supporting projects such as: Interstate & highway construction Major roadway expansions Complex bridge construction Interchange reconstruction Airport expansions Taxiways Runways Airfield infrastructure Civil site development Drainage & utility infrastructure Design-Build and CM/GC delivery methods Large public infrastructure projects valued from $50M to $1B+ Qualifications 8+ years of scheduling experience within heavy civil construction.

Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6. Strong understanding of CPM scheduling methodologies. Experience supporting transportation infrastructure projects.

Ability to analyze schedule impacts, delays, and recovery strategies. Knowledge of TxDOT scheduling specifications is highly desirable. Aviation construction scheduling experience is a major plus.

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with owners, engineers, and executive leadership.
