Job description

Overview
An Automation Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing electronic, computerized, and diagnostic testing equipment. This role requires expertise in SCADA systems, PLCs, and DCS systems, ensuring efficient operation of automation systems in an offshore environment.
Responsibilities
  • Installs, maintains, calibrates, and repairs electronic, computerized, and diagnostic testing equipment.
  • Inspects and diagnoses operating problems on pumps, electrical motors, instrumentation systems, communication systems, power distribution systems, and automatic control systems.
  • Performs mandatory paperwork required by customers and government agencies.
  • Performs record-keeping and maintains files on work performed.
  • Knowledgeable of SCADA system hardware and software components such as Allen-Bradley or GE PLCs, HMI packages like Wonderware, Rockwell Automation, Inductive Automation, Citect, or GE.
  • Organizational skills to maintain platform operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in a team environment.
  • Safety-oriented.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Real ID driver's license or current U.S. passport
  • 3-6 years automation experience in the oil & gas industry
  • Experience working offshore on a production platform preferred
  • Proficiency in PLC systems, especially ControlLogix 5000.
  • Experience with ladder logic and DCS systems (e.g., Honeywell Experion).
  • Programming experience
  • Valid TWIC card.
