As of Jun 5, 2026, the average yearly pay for cisec inspector in the United States is $54,939.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $38,500.00 and $63,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CISEC Inspector, and why are they important?

To thrive as a CISEC Inspector, you need a solid understanding of erosion and sediment control practices, environmental regulations, and must hold CISEC certification. Familiarity with inspection reporting tools, GIS systems, and compliance documentation software is commonly required. Attention to detail, strong communication, and problem-solving abilities help inspectors effectively identify and resolve compliance issues. These skills ensure that construction sites minimize environmental impact and meet regulatory requirements, protecting both the environment and project stakeholders.

What are some common challenges faced by a CISEC Inspector on construction sites?

CISEC Inspectors often encounter challenges such as ensuring compliance with evolving stormwater regulations, managing multiple contractors with varying levels of environmental awareness, and keeping thorough documentation during fast-paced construction activities. Communication between site personnel and regulatory agencies can also be complex, requiring clear reporting and negotiation skills. Staying proactive and organized is crucial for identifying potential issues early and maintaining site compliance throughout the project.

What are CISEC Inspectors?

CISEC Inspectors, or Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control, are professionals trained and certified to inspect construction sites for compliance with erosion and sediment control regulations. Their primary role is to ensure that sediment and pollutants do not leave construction sites and impact the surrounding environment. They perform site inspections, create reports, and recommend corrective actions to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal environmental laws. CISEC Inspectors must pass a certification exam and often have ongoing education requirements to stay updated on changing regulations.
