Sr. Network Engineer Location: Kings Point, NY (Hybrid) Clearance: Public Trust Experience: 5-7 Years Pay Rate: $40-$45/Hr Role Overview Seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

The role involves managing secure, high-performing networks in a NIST/FISMA-compliant environment. Key Responsibilities Design & support LAN/WAN/DMZ/Wireless networks Configure and manage Cisco routers & switches Handle firewalls, VPNs, and network security Troubleshoot L2/L3 network issues Manage Active Directory & Group Policies Maintain network documentation & standards Support Windows Server & Windows 11 environments Must-Have Skills Cisco networking (routing & switching) Wireless network design & optimization Firewall & VPN management Network security tools Strong troubleshooting & root cause analysis PowerShell scripting Nice-to-Have Aruba (Wireless & NAC) Nutanix (Prism / AHV) Government/NIST/FISMA experience Certifications CCNA / CCNP / ITIL v3 (at least one required)
