Position Summary: This is an armed security officer position focused on physical security and facility protection. The individual will maintain a safe and secure environment for company personnel, assets, and property by patrolling and monitoring residential and corporate locations, and by enforcing access control and security protocols as directed. This role requires high personal integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to respond decisively under pressure. Ability to work nights, weekends, Holidays and Overtime as needed.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
  • Protect company personnel, property, and assets by maintaining a visible security presence and deterring unauthorized activity.
  • Enforce access control procedures at all entry and exit points; verify credentials and authorize entry of personnel and visitors.
  • Monitor and document arrival and departure of all contractors, employees, and visitors.
  • Operate and monitor security surveillance, alarm, and phone systems.
  • Conduct periodic foot and vehicle patrols of premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of controlled access points.
  • Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational readiness and detect evidence of tampering.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve security breaches.
  • Respond to security threats and emergencies; contact 911 for police, fire, or EMS response as appropriate.
  • Write clear, accurate reports regarding security incidents or suspicious activities.
  • Screen incoming mail and packages, sign for items as required, and sort for distribution.
  • Staff special events at various company locations as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel as needed.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Possess, or be able to obtain, a Level II, III, and IV Security Commission from the TX DPS Private Security Bureau.
  • Honorably discharged from U.S. Armed Services, if applicable.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to detect potential threats.
  • Capable of communicating effectively with management, staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to perform job functions.
  • Strong physical and mental fitness to maintain a demanding workload; quarterly physical fitness testing required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • Recognizes confidential information and maintains it in accordance with company procedures.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic, integrity, and honesty.
  • Dependable and reliable in fulfilling all assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Level IV Security Certification with TX DPS.
  • Valid U.S. Passport.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift.
  • Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds constantly. And up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
