We are seeking an Asset Manager to support our work at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
What You'll Be Doing
The Asset Manager will support a large enterprise client program, working with project managers and client personnel to track assets and support overall asset management activities across client facilities. This role oversees all asset management activities, maintains accurate inventory levels, and adheres to program related service levels and initiatives. The Asset Manager will establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and client management, and develop a solid understanding of Cisco and other OEM products.
Asset Add/Move/Change
  • Submit manual field changes, including support group, approval groups, location information, etc.
  • Identify maintenance windows by facility and business

Cisco SmartNet
  • Validate SmartNet and track renewal; build alerting solution

License Management
  • Validate licensing and track renewal; build alerting solution

Maintenance/Remediation
  • Monitor inventory for aging discovery dates
  • Resolve missing devices
  • Resolve wrong status devices
  • Work with field engineers to move retired equipment to stock rooms
  • Open tickets to get hostnames fixed and QA device data
  • Resolve MIB issues with the call center when payloads are not processed properly
  • Work with firewall and support teams to fix SNMP configurations as needed
  • Work with all teams on new device type solutioning
  • Compare inventory across applications for issues (e.g., monitoring vs. ITSM platform), resolve and maintain consistency between systems
  • Update for regulatory requirements as needed (e.g., PCI)
  • Research new equipment discovered on the network and escalate for direction
  • Lead and work with resolver teams to build workflows that improve the asset management program
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach to technology spend strategies and to tracking client assets within the CMDB throughout the asset lifecycle
  • Ensure effective management of the CMDB and the accuracy of its contents
  • Provide logistics support for asset tracking, tagging, and management
  • Attend client meetings related to network infrastructure assets under management, as needed
  • Act as liaison between the client and OEM partners on escalations, as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent additional experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 3+ years of Asset Management experience
  • Good to strong Excel skills; pivot tables and VLOOKUPs should be in the candidate's arsenal
  • ITSM experience preferred
  • Asset tracking/logistics experience a plus
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to travel when needed, up to 20% local travel
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Cisco network products preferred
