Job description

Supported Client/Agency: Department of Homeland Security (DHS) / Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)

Chimera Enterprises is seeking an experienced Travel Systems and Process Engineer. The ideal candidate will have senior‑level experience in systems and process engineering, configuration management, and IT-enabled workflow design within a Federal or enterprise environment. The Travel Systems & Process Engineer will lead the technical design, configuration, and continuous refinement of CISA’s international travel processes and associated information systems. This role bridges the gap between business needs and IT solutions, ensuring that travel systems, dashboards, and repositories are secure, scalable, and highly efficient.

Mission

To architect and optimize the technical infrastructure supporting CISA's international travel operations. By translating complex business requirements into streamlined IT workflows and robust data visualizations, this role ensures that CISA personnel have seamless, reliable access to travel systems, and leadership has real-time insights into travel metrics and compliance.

Clearance Level Required: Public Trust

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the design and refinement of CISA’s international travel processes and associated information systems, including data repositories, dashboards, and internal web/platform content.
  • Work collaboratively with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and other stakeholders to provide requirements, configuration, data management, and technical coordination for travel-related systems and tools (e.g., SharePoint, CRM tools, Microsoft Power Platform).
  • Develop, configure, and maintain advanced dashboards and visualizations that accurately display travel patterns, policy compliance status, and other key operational metrics.
  • Ensure that technical repositories for international arrangements, agreements, and frequently referenced information are logically structured, currently maintained, and easily accessible to authorized CISA staff.
  • Provide high-level technical guidance and process engineering expertise to support scalable, secure, and highly efficient travel information management solutions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expertise in systems engineering, configuration management, and the design of IT-enabled business workflows.
  • Strong familiarity and hands‑on experience with enterprise platforms, specifically SharePoint, CRM tools, and the Microsoft Power Platform (or similar enterprise solutions).
  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements and travel policies into effective technical configurations and executive dashboards.
  • Exceptional coordination and communication skills, with the ability to act as a technical liaison between IT departments (e.g., OCIO) and business stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Experience: 8+ years of senior‑level, relevant experience in systems or process engineering, configuration management, or IT-enabled workflow design, preferably supporting enterprise platforms in Federal or large organizational contexts.
  • Clearance: Eligibility for and ability to maintain a Public Trust suitability determination.
  • Location: Primarily at the Government facility in Arlington, Virginia (NCR), with potential telework options as required by the agency.

Chimera Enterprises International is committed to equal opportunity and affirmative action in hiring and retaining a diverse workforce, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
