Job description

We are seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our Boart Longyear team in West Valley, Utah, supporting our Large Rotary division. In this role, you will coordinate field crews and logistics to ensure operational demands and client requirements are met while driving the consistent execution of operational standards across field and project activities. You will lead and support continuous improvement efforts and ensure adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate crews and logistics to ensure job demands and client requirements are met.
  • Work closely with Field Supervisors to complete field orders and support day-to-day operational needs.
  • Promote and model a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure alignment between operational activities and EHS systems, processes, and procedures to meet statutory, company, and client standards.
  • Identify and report operational risks and hazards; ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Support and participate in the identification, validation, and achievement of drilling competency for operational employees.
  • Provide leadership on operational matters including drilling technical issues, drill rigs, and ancillary equipment; ensure competency development is maintained.
  • Ensure operational systems, processes, and practices are understood and consistently applied across the division in alignment with global Boart Longyear standards and metrics.
  • Act with integrity and consistently represent Boart Longyear's values and interests.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and Boart Longyear policies and procedures.
  • Partner with leadership teams to ensure equipment meets Drilling Standard requirements and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to identify and recruit top operational talent.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Travel as required to support field operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree; or diploma in a related field or relevant certification. Relevant experience strongly considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.
  • Ability to travel extensively as required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Effective time and priority management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and related software tools.
