WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • This position leads enterprise-wide privacy operations under the direction of the Director, Risk Management, Compliance & Privacy and in partnership with Privacy attorneys. You will supervise the Privacy Operations Engineer and Privacy Operations Auditor, coordinate closely with the Department of Customer Management, Hyundai AutoEver America (HAEA), and the Information Protection Center (IPC), and serve as the business owner of privacy-related SaaS solutions. You will develop and support the organized intake, factual development, project management, implementation, reporting, and escalation, of privacy-related risks and implementation of privacy controls in Hyundai and Gensis business programs
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Lead, develop, and supervise the privacy operations team, maintain the program roadmap, set priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Escalate legal questions, policy interpretations, material risks, control gaps, audit findings, and business disputes.
  • Administer privacy intake, gather business and technical facts, coordinate stakeholders, and route matters to accountable owners.
  • Ensure projects reviewed through PriSMA implement approved privacy and legal controls before launch and throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate implementation responsibilities, deadlines, evidence collection, validation, and escalation of unresolved gaps or risks.
  • Serve as privacy operations liaison to the Department of Customer Management (DCM) and coordinate shared workstreams and operational activities.
  • Coordinate consumer rights request operations, monitor deadlines, manage handoffs, maintain reporting, and prepare matters for legal review.
  • Partner with HAEA to support privacy control implementation, testing, remediation, evidence collection, and reporting.
  • Serve as operational product owner for privacy-related SaaS solutions, integrations, governance, access, releases, testing, and improvements.
  • Coordinate data discovery, inventory, mapping, data quality, reconciliation, and exception handling activities.
  • Establish operating standards, service levels, KPIs, dashboards, and leadership reporting.
  • Maintain control evidence standards and manage privacy issues through remediation, validation, risk acceptance, and closure.
  • Coordinate audit, regulatory, and internal review response activities.
  • Monitor projects requiring additional legal and compliance review.
  • Maintain project plans, logs, reports, procedures, documentation, meetings, cross-functional coordination, and process improvements.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business administration, communications, project management, legal studies, information governance, privacy, compliance, or a related field.
  • A Juris Doctor degree, active bar membership preferred.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience in privacy, compliance, legal operations, information governance, technology implementation, program management, or complex cross-functional business operations.
  • Experience leading a program or team, assigning priorities, reviewing work product, developing personnel, and delivering results across multiple workstreams.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise privacy, consumer rights, privacy assessments, vendor onboarding, information governance, control evidence, audit readiness, and recognized privacy or compliance frameworks.
  • Experience partnering with IT organizations to translate approved privacy requirements into operational and technical controls, coordinate testing and remediation, and communicate implementation gaps or risks.
  • Experience implementing, administering, or owning privacy, data governance, information management, or compliance SaaS solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong cross-functional program management, organization, communication, meeting facilitation, executive reporting, and stakeholder relationship skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities within compressed time frames.
  • Demonstrated judgment in distinguishing operational coordination and implementation responsibilities from decisions requiring legal advice, regulatory interpretation, risk acceptance, executive judgment, or ownership by another control function.
  • Relevant certification such as CIPP/M, CIPM, or PMP is preferred but not required.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Compensation Range: $139,400 - $188,600 annual base salaryย
