Job description

This role is based at our Bardstown, KY Bottling facility. Schedule for this position is 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday 11pm-7am.

What the Role Is

The Bottling Production Platform Lead is responsible for leading and executing production operations during an assigned shift within the platform. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality production while supporting the platform’s overall performance goals in safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

The Lead manages frontline production teams, implements the Heaven Hill Production System, and drives daily execution of operational metrics through the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process. This role partners closely with Maintenance, Quality, and the Platform Manager to ensure effective problem-solving, equipment reliability, and workforce development.

The Platform Lead plays a critical role in achieving world-class safety performance, maintaining equipment centerlines, and supporting TPM initiatives including Clean, Inspect, Lubricate (CIL) activities.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

Safety & Compliance Leadership

  • Lead shift-level safety initiatives and reinforce a strong safety culture, including executing and/or coaching Behavior-Based Safety Observations
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively identify and mitigate safety and environmental risks and hazards within the platform.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing recordable incidents and improving TCIR performance.
  • Lead safety and environmental investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions when incidents occur.

Production Operations

  • Manage daily production activities to meet platform targets for throughput, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Monitor shift performance and escalate issues impacting production or quality.
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules and operational standards.
  • Support cross-shift communication to maintain continuity of operations.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure production processes meet established quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Monitor quality metrics and lead shift-level corrective actions when deviations occur.
  • Reinforce adherence to standard operating procedures and centerline parameters.
  • Work with Quality teams to resolve issues and implement process improvements.

Equipment Reliability & TPM

  • Support the execution of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives on the platform.
  • Ensure operators follow centerline standards and autonomous maintenance practices.
  • Lead CIL activities within the shift.
  • Partner with Maintenance to coordinate preventive maintenance activities and respond to equipment issues.
  • Assist with identifying reliability improvements and equipment performance trends.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support implementation of the Heaven Hill Production System within the platform.
  • Lead Lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Utilize production data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead Kaizen events, problem-solving teams, and operational improvement projects.
  • Ensure health of overall CIL system including updating standards, coaching team members, and completing health checks.

Metrics & Daily Management

  • Execute daily performance reviews through the DDS board process.
  • Monitor key operational metrics including safety, quality, downtime, and efficiency.
  • Communicate performance results to team members and drive accountability.
  • Escalate issues to the Platform Manager when necessary.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership and direction to production operators during the shift.
  • Support operator training and skill development programs.
  • Reinforce standardized work and best practices across the platform.
  • Participate in Platform Lead development initiatives and leadership training.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Who You Are…

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment.
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to interpret production data and performance metrics.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of safety systems, quality processes, and equipment reliability principles.
  • Ability to manage production operations in a fast-paced environment.
