Work Environment & Format

This is a remote position covering from Bakersfield to Oregon Border.

Job Overview

The Agency Development Manager serves a vital role managing the Companys relationship with our agency business partners in an assigned geographical territory. The principle focus of this job will be to identify strategic business partners, manage agency relationships, plan for profitable growth, and direct support for the achievement of the territory production goals including Agricultural, Commercial Lines and Personal Lines Business. Working in a field environment, the Agency Development Manager will cultivate the development of new business, identify opportunities for book growth, provide agency training on systems and services, and support assigned agents to maximize the production of profitable business. The Agency Development Manager is responsible for connecting the agent to the appropriate in-company resource to price and quote all lines of business in the territory. Working in concert with all CIG product lines, the Agency Development Manager will refer all leads to the appropriate department or business function.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree is preferred. However, equivalent experience in a related assignment will be considered.
  • This position requires ongoing commitment to continuing education in insurance with completion or active participation in business relevant insurance certifications such as IIA, AFIS, CPCU, or CIC.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively challenging business-related experience in roles as a Personal/Commercial Underwriter, Territorial Manager, Agency Producer, Underwriting Specialist or other related insurance discipline is required.
  • The person in this position must be able to identify strategic partners, evaluate opportunities for growth and profit, manage constructive relationships, develop effective business plans and manage the territory for results.
  • The person selected for this position must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply sound insurance principles in a highly professional manner and function in a remote work environment with a minimum level of supervision.
  • This person must be willing and able to travel extensively within their territory and will be expected to perform 75% of their work week traveling with several monthly overnight requirements.
  • This position will be expected to adhere to a weekly regiment of Monday office time and the remaining week traveling visiting agencies in their territory.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary Range: $87,588.00 - $145,981.00

The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
