Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Performs individual internal audit projects, as part of the total internal audit plan. Develops internal audit scope, performs internal audit procedures, and prepares internal audit reports reflecting the results of the work performed. Work performed will include coverage of functional and operating units and focus on financial and operational processes. Performs follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues. Assists internal audit management with periodic reporting to the audit committee, develops the annual internal audit plan, and champions internal control and corporate governance concepts throughout the business. The senior internal auditor may often direct and review the work performed by other internal audit personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Plans internal company audits.
  • Executes audit programs.
  • Summarizes, evaluates and communicates audit results including writing audit reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting.
  • Three (2) to five (3) years of auditing experience are required, inventory auditing preferred, or two years of auditing experience with a professional designation such as CPA or CIA.
  • Understanding of internal control concepts and experience in applying them to plan, perform, manage and report on evaluation of various business processes/areas/functions.
  • Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other internal audit project team members.
  • Ability to work and correspond with various levels of personnel and management throughout the company during audits.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, to effectively present to peers and management.
  • Exhibits the leadership skills needed to sell ideas and obtain management buy-in for constructive change.
  • Understanding of internal auditing standards, COSO and risk assessment practices.
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience in performing multiple projects and working with varying team members.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or ERP system is preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work proficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 50% with 25% of that travel overnight.
  • Ability to conduct internal audits and draw conclusions based on the evidence obtained.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be able to work without close supervision and must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.

RELATIONSHIPS
Works with auditees during the execution of audits. Communicates audit results to all levels of management. Audits are conducted on a quarterly basis.
