Job description

Position Title: Campus Maintenance Technician
Campus: Queen Creek
Reports to: Director of Operations
Status: Full-time, Non-exempt                                                        
 
Position Summary: 
The Church Campus Technician is responsible for the maintenance, preventative maintenance, safety, and appearance of church facilities and grounds. This role ensures the campus remains welcoming, functional, and well-maintained, supporting the church's mission and ministries through excellent stewardship of its resources.
 
The primary focus of this position is proactive facility care through preventative maintenance while providing appropriate support for ministry activities and events. The ideal candidate is a committed follower of Jesus Christ who views facility stewardship as an extension of ministry.

This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the mission and vision of Central Christian Church. 

 
Responsibilities: 
 
Facility Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on church buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Execute and manage preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct regular inspections of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and other building systems.
  • Maintain maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
Campus Appearance
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus.
  • Ensure worship spaces, classrooms, offices, and common areas are presentation-ready.
  • Assist with landscaping, painting, lighting, and general facility improvements.
  • Address appearance and facility concerns proactively.
Ministry Support
  • Set up and tear down rooms and equipment for services, meetings, and events.
  • Support ministry teams with facility-related needs.
  • Balance ministry requests with maintenance priorities and healthy workload capacity.
  • Provide facility support during special events as needed.
Safety & Stewardship
  • Promote and maintain a safe campus environment.
  • Identify and address safety hazards promptly.
  • Practice responsible stewardship of church facilities, equipment, and resources.
  • Contribute to long-term facility planning and asset care.
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Strong work ethic
  • Understanding of building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and facility operations.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Currently possess or able to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License 
  • Experience doing maintenance work in a similar type of environment preferred
  • 2+ years of facility maintenance, building operations, construction, or related experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills

Physical Requirements: 
This position is indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must perform occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects weighing up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Position requires approximately 75% standing or walking and 25% sitting.
