Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides advanced care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. We are a career destination with over 6,000 colleagues who reflect the diversity of our community.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your Role:
  • Fully trained (armed - non-lethal) security officer position.
  • Ensures colleagues,' patients,' and visitors' safety; patrols and surveils all hospital campus areas and responds to emergencies quickly and appropriately.
  • Displays an understanding of diversity.
  • Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values).
  • Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
  • Patrols and surveils hospital campus; provides unarmed security.
  • Responds to emergencies and drills (e.g., infant/child abductions ("code pinks"), fires ("code reds"), disasters ("code greens") and violent/security events ("code greys").
  • Investigates thefts, burglaries, automobile collisions, and other violations.
  • Delivers medication and emergency shipments.
  • Assists staff members with patients.
  • Completes required training.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.

Reports To: Supervisor/Security (JC: 081001).
Supervises: None.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., certificate of high school equivalency.
Required Experience: Five (5) years of relevant, job-related work experience.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
  • Successful completion of the Field Training Officer (FTO) Program (provided by the Supervisor/Security).
  • Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) credential from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
  • Blue Card certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
  • American Red Cross (ARC) first aid certification.
  • TASER certification from a certified instructor.
  • Handcuff certification from a certified instructor.
