IT Systems Engineer

Full-Time (12-month), Exempt, Category 3

Salary commensurate with experience

Reports to the Director of Information Technology

Description: The Systems Engineer is a full-time technical position that provides general application and network support. Working in a fast-paced dynamic environment, this person joins a team of individuals to ensure proper functioning of technical operations and provides exceptional service and customer support to all campus constituents. The position is office-based in Westlake Village, California.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as member of in-house technical support team
  • Provides help desk queue management services
  • Provides end-user support for PC/Mac hardware and software related problems
  • Supports Office 365
  • Supports Google Chrome IS and Google suite
  • Supports/administers Microsoft Deployment Tools (MDT) for PCs, Apple's Device Enrollment Plan (DEP) and Chromebook's Enterprise Enrollment
  • Supports various A/V systems including projectors and Smartboards
  • Supports security systems, WiFi networks and network printing
  • Plans and executes software/hardware upgrades
  • Assists in maintaining accurate inventory of assets
  • Create/update documentation
  • May be required to carry a mobile device and be on call 24/7
  • Ability to carry 40lbs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications / Skills

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with Cisco, Microsoft, and Apple networking technologies 
  • Desired certifications: MCSA, CCNA, A+, ACSP
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and other network protocols 
  • Working experience with Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, SQL and IIS
  • Backup solutions, Mobile Device Management and network printing
  • PC/Mac systems
  • Cisco IP phones
  • Possess superior communication skills; written and verbal
  • Demonstrate complex problem-solving skills and develop/executes comprehensive resolutions
  • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism and an attitude of service
  • Must be willing to sign a statement of faith
