Secondary Principal (Grades 6-12th)

Position Summary

The Connection School of Houston is currently seeking to fill a position of Secondary Principal for the 2026-27 school year.

The Secondary School Leader (Grades 6-12) serves as a spiritual, academic, and operational leader, advancing the school's mission to "discipline students to love God with all of their hearts, souls, and minds, and to love others as they love themselves." This role provides oversight of all secondary programs, ensuring alignment with Christian Classical education, fostering a culture of honor, service, and academic excellence grounded in Scripture and The Seven Liberal Arts.

Key Leadership Responsibilities Spiritual & Cultural Leadership
  • Model Christ-centered leadership and actively disciple students and faculty
  • Cultivate a school culture rooted in truth, goodness, and beauty
  • Promote spiritual formation through chapel, mentorship, and student life initiatives
  • Partner with families to support students' spiritual and character development
Academic Leadership
  • Oversee curriculum alignment with Christian Classical (Liberal Arts) philosophy
  • Ensure academic excellence and integrity across all secondary grades
  • Mentor faculty
  • Oversight with instruction and curriculum development in Classical pedagogy
  • Establish and monitor student academic goals and outcomes
  • Support faculty development, coaching, and evaluation
Student Life & Discipleship
  • Oversee student discipline with a restorative, discipleship-oriented approach
  • Develop and implement programs for student leadership, service, and character formation
  • Coordinate retreats, service projects, and extracurricular activities
  • Ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for all students
Operational Leadership
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the secondary school (6th-12th grade)
  • Coordinate schedules, logistics, and school events
  • Implement and uphold school policies and safety protocols
  • Monitor facility needs and respond to urgent operational concerns
Administrative Collaboration
  • Receive coaching and training from the Head of School working under their leadership
  • Partner closely with the Head of School and leadership team
  • Lead and participate in team-based decision-making
  • Facilitate communication between faculty, administration, and families
  • Organize and lead parent meetings and community engagements
Professional Growth
  • Pursue and participate in ongoing training in Christian Classical Education
  • Stay current with best practices in secondary education and leadership
  • Model lifelong learning for faculty and students
Qualifications
  • Alignment with the school's statement of faith and philosophy of education
  • Strong understanding of The Seven Liberal Arts/Classical Christian Education
  • Experience in Christian Classical Education preferred
  • Administrative experience in a Christian school preferredExperience working with junior high and/or high school students
  • Master's degree (completed or in progress)
  • Demonstrated commitment to Christian discipleship
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Mentorship-oriented leadership style
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, and build healthy teams
