Job description

Schedule/Hours:

Full-time; Hours Varied

Tuesday – Friday; Sunday

This position is responsible for:

Under the general direction of the Corps Officer, the Corps Helper/Program Aide assists with programs such as youth activities, Angel Tree Christmas Program (toys for children), nursing home and hospital visits, community outreach, bible study, Sunday School and other current or future programs. The incumbent coordinates and participates in outreach efforts and programs to assist individuals in the community to include providing and/or arranging for participant transportation to Corps sponsored services, events and activities. The incumbent will assist in the preparation of statistical and outcome reports. The Corps Helper/Program Aide will assist with other administrative matters as requested. The ideal candidate should possess great attention to detail, exhibit professionalism, and have genuine interest and passion for helping the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, prepares, leads, and evaluates specific youth ministries programs and other Corps ministry programs; leads or assists with regular meetings of Corps programs. Assists in Sunday School as necessary.
  • Prepares or assists in preparing statistical reports related to the Community Care Ministry, Sunday School, and Corps programming.
  • Assists Corps Officer with development and evaluation of Corps programming; suggests alternative programming ideas and materials;

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements which include Saturday & Sunday hours. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer, digital scanner, etc. Ability to drive a vehicle. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed by a combination of sitting, standing, walking and/or driving a vehicle. Duties may also require ability to lead and participate in recreational and/or athletic/sports programs. Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures and driving a vehicle in moderate to heavy traffic. Significant driving may be required in this position and as a result there may be exposure to hazardous road conditions.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college or technical school experience/credits is preferred  AND
  • Two years’ experience participating in ministerial work OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Bon-a-fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ):

This position requires that the incumbent practices the Christian faith.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Driver’s License and must meet TSA MVR Requirements.
