Job description

Position: Director of Creative Content
Department: Athletics
Status: Full Time
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for all facets of athletics video, digital and social media areas. Extensive knowledge of social media platforms and social media engagement are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the comprehensive plan for Campbell Athletics Social Media accounts to include the social media calendars and creative content implementation
  • Guide all of Campbell Athletics individual sport social media accounts, ensuring each account lives up to the standards and branding of the athletics department
  • Serve as the creative content lead with oversight of other full-time department members, as well as graduate and student assistants, including interns.
  • Point of contact for all social media technology implementation and management including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram as well as content creation in Adobe Suite.
  • Organize, assign and execute graphic and video coverage for Campbell Athletics
  • Work in collaboration with other external facing departments, including but not limited to marketing, communications, ticketing, sponsorships, broadcasting, revenue generation, and branding, to support Campbell's digital outreach.
  • Assist the Senior Associate AD for Marketing, Communications and Branding with digital brand and asset management.
  • Recruit, organize, schedule and mentor student workers and interns for the digital media department
  • Compile and report analytics for Campbell Athletics social and digital media
  • Maintain and execute the budget for the digital media department
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; HIPAA, FERPA and other state and federal mandates
  • Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 4 years of experience working in an intercollegiate athletics department or professional sports environment, preferred.
  • Experience shooting video of athletic contests and using video editing programs.
  • Experience working with website editing programs.
  • Experience using social media for the marketing and promotion of athletic programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite, Adobe products and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms
  • Advanced skills in utilizing/administering social media platforms
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines
  • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
  • Ability to work regular evening or weekend hours and regular travel; including overnight stays
