High School Teacher (History & Bible) - Cherokee Christian Schools

Reports To: High School Principal
Classification: Full-Time Faculty
Compensation: Based on experience and qualifications

Position Summary

Cherokee Christian School is seeking a Christ-centered, relational, and organized High School Teacher with the ability to teach History and Bible courses. The ideal candidate will have a passion for classical Christian education, strong classroom management skills, and a desire to disciple students both academically and spiritually.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned High School History and Bible courses in alignment with the school’s mission and curriculum standards.
  • Prepare engaging lesson plans, assessments, and classroom activities that promote critical thinking and student growth.
  • Foster a positive, Christ-centered classroom culture built on respect, accountability, and discipleship.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, administration, and students regarding academic progress and student needs.
  • Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and classroom records in a timely manner.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and student activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with fellow faculty members to support the overall mission and culture of Cherokee Christian School.
Qualifications
  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Agreement with Cherokee Christian School’s statement of faith and mission.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in History, Education, Bible, or related field preferred.
  • Teaching experience preferred, especially at the High School level.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relational skills.
  • Ability to integrate biblical worldview into all areas of instruction.
Preferred Qualities
  • Passion for mentoring and discipling High School students.
  • Appreciation for classical Christian education.
  • Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities, coaching, or student life is a plus.
Work Schedule & Benefits
  • Full-time faculty position following the school calendar.
