Ministry Function

The Marketing Cloud Specialist serves the ministry of Convoy of Hope by leading a high-performing, data-driven marketing automation team. This role is responsible for researching, designing, maintaining, and regularly reporting on multichannel marketing automations.

  • Serves as the Marketing Cloud expert for Convoy of Hope.
  • Works closely with other technical positions at Convoy of Hope, such as Salesforce experts and website developers, to architect new automations and solve problems related to existing ones.
  • Successfully leverages the entire Marketing Cloud suite, with a heavy emphasis on Email Studio and Journey Builder, to execute a multichannel marketing strategy.
  • Stays up to date on best practices and regulations โ€” particularly those related to SMS and email โ€” as well as Salesforce Marketing Cloud updates and MarTech offerings.
  • Regularly reviews data to ensure and increase campaign effectiveness.
  • Maintains a good sender reputation with email service providers and successful email deliverability.
  • Provides regular reports and data-informed suggestions to improve marketing efforts.
  • Works closely with internal key stakeholders to design scalable and personalized marketing automation road maps that improve and enhance the donor experience.
  • Creates and codifies standard operating procedures and change logs related to marketing automations, keeping detailed records of both for current and future teammates.
  • Fulfills all other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Five years of demonstrated marketing experience, with three or more years of Marketing Cloud experience is required. A bachelorโ€™s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Possesses strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Displays strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Exhibits the ability to prioritize projects.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills in person and in writing.
  • Exhibits strong Mac or PC proficiency and working knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Marketing Cloud, and other marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, Marketo).
  • Possesses the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
  • Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Marketing Cloud team.
