The Food Service Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership and development of Food and Beverage Ministry of Calvary Chapel, whose purpose is to provide a Christian environment for fellowship and discipleship to the Body of Christ, To be direct communication with Director of Food Service in decision making for the Grill, Cafe, Hub, Generous Cafe & Bookstore as well as all other areas of food and beverage service for Calvary Chapel.
This position interacts with all ministries using food and beverages in their ministry, the church body, staff and the general public. You must have a servant's heart and have the ability to work with the fast changing and last-minute needs of our staff and fellowship body. Their servants' heart will be displayed in their leadership style, giving all glory to God. Areas of functioning include oversight special events and working with the Director of Food Services, planning for future growth and expansion and oversight of all operational aspects of food and service.

You will:
  • Provide a Christ-like environment in which staff, volunteers and the body are warmly received and encouraged
  • Maintain the vision for the Food and Beverage Ministry. Forecasting future needs, planning for increased volume, maintaining equipment, managing staffing levels, and oversight of event planning
  • Hold Managers, Executive Chef and Supervisors accountable for high levels of performance within the Ministry
  • Make decisions regarding hiring, separations, and counseling
  • Review, maintain payroll reports, and weekly punch edits alongside the Executive Chef and the Assistant General Manager
  • Forecast staff and volunteer needs for weekly service times and special events
  • Plan for future school food and beverage needs. Including forecasting staffing, products, equipment needs and layout of space

  • Have oversight of ministry invoices being processed and ensure billing statement is turned into Accounting in a timely manner
  • Be responsible for keys and cash handling
  • Review monthly inventory with Executive Chef and Director of Food Services conducted by FOH and BOH
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards, inspections and training
  • Review and communicate all health department inspections and comments with Management Team
  • Collaborate with Training and Volunteer Coordinator to achieve active volunteer(s) goal
  • Plan and oversee facilitation of regular training updates and quarterly all-staff training meetings
  • Develop processes and procedures to create efficiency, organization and excelled execution of food service
  • Facilitate regular manager meetings
  • Conduct regular one on ones with Managers and Supervisors, reviews twice annually

Work Schedule:
Staff culture is important to what we do. To love like family, we require all staff to attend all staff meetings, department meetings and serve with a willing heart especially at all major campus events. Full time (40 hours/week) Available during weekends and late evenings to meet the needs of the ministry, flexible beyond that.
