Job description

Role’s Mission:  To Implement the vision of the Christ Chapel executive leadership team (Elder Board, Senior Pastor and Executive Pastor) in the assigned campus area.

Christ Chapel’s Mission: “To stretch every involved person from the threshold of their spiritual pilgrimage toward becoming a fully-developing follower of Christ.” (Col 1:28-29) 

Role’s Requirements:
To serve with humility and excellence as a representative of Christ Chapel in carrying out the ministry and operations of the West Campus alongside the West Campus Pastor. 

  • Minister to the day-to-day spiritual needs of the congregation including: 
    • Hospital visitations, weddings, funerals, baptisms, parent dedications, venue pastor duties, and other pastoral care opportunities. 
  • Oversee and evaluate the assimilation of people into the West Campus fellowship:
    • Oversee the Connect Minister and that ministry.
    • Ensure Sunday service volunteer needs are adequately met
  • Oversee and evaluate the health and growth of Home Groups at the West Campus:
    • Oversee the Groups Minister and that ministry.
    • Participate in recruiting and developing home group leaders.
  • Collaborate with Central Services to establish and grow our Discipleship Pathway at the West Campus. 
  • Serve as the staff shepherd for Care Classes at the West Campus (Re|Engage & Thrive).
  • Collaborate with Central Services to serve as a point of contact and relationship builder with our Local Outreach partners in Parker County. 
  • Attend Staff Huddles and other meetings as assigned. 

 
Role’s Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the West Campus Pastor
 

Role’s Requirements:
Character:

  • Must be a married Christian with an Elder-qualified character (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).
  • Must be a maturing believer who is obviously, consistently and increasingly manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in his daily walk with Christ (Galatians 5:22-23) as well as among others
  • Must be a lover of souls with a heart that longs to see them become more like Jesus
  • Must be a man of prayer
  • Must be a joy to supervise (Hebrews 13:17)

Calling: 

  • Must embrace Christ Chapel's doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be an advocate of our doctrine and philosophy of ministry both in public and in private
  • Must embrace a work philosophy of planning and delivering biblically-appropriate, God-honoring, grace-based results/outcomes 
  • Must be able to articulate a clear sense of calling to the Gospel ministry
  • As our interview process moves forward, we must jointly sense God’s calling to Christ Chapel, both sides having a sense of His intertwining our hearts and lives together (Acts 20:28)
  • Willing to attend, lead, or oversee church programs before/after normal office hours

Competency:

  • Spiritual Gift 
    • If a believer receives only one gift (1 Pet 4:10), then the ideal candidate would have the spiritual gift of shepherding (Rom 12; 1 Cor 12; Eph 4; 1 Pet 4)
  • Education 
    • Ordained or licensed minister
    • College Graduate
  • Philosophy/Experience
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a larger church or at least 3 years’ experience in a people-oriented business
    • Must be eager to work in a multi-site church format
    • Must be okay with not preaching on a regular basis (or at all)
    • Must have at least 3 years’ experience managing employees with excellence
    • Proven track record of managing a budget and meeting financial goals
  • Interpersonal attitudes or skills 
    • Must have a track record of problem solving and taking initiative
    • Must be an engaging and winsome communicator
    • Must have a track record of doing well in inter-generational environments

  • Must be trustworthy, loyal and dependable
  • Must be humble and approachable
  • Must be a team player – especially when we have fun together
  • Must be self-led and self-managed regarding work
  • Must be flexible with a “can do” spirit
  • Must be a life-long learner

Role’s Preferences: 

  • Master’s Degree from conservative, evangelical seminary preferred 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products 
  • Previous experience with overseeing assimilation and/or home group type ministries preferred
