Choral Interns are individuals, often students or early-career musicians, who assist with various tasks in a choir or choral organization as part of their training. Their responsibilities may include singing in rehearsals and performances, assisting with administrative duties, organizing music, and sometimes helping with sectionals or outreach. The position offers valuable hands-on experience in choral music, ensemble dynamics, and the operational aspects of choir management. Choral Internships are typically designed to provide mentorship and professional development for those considering a career in music or music education.

What types of projects or performances can a Choral Intern expect to participate in during their internship?

As a Choral Intern, you can expect to be involved in a variety of projects, including assisting with rehearsals, supporting music preparation, and participating in performances. You may help manage sheet music, coordinate with accompanists, and even lead small group sectionals under supervision. Interns often learn about concert logistics, rehearsal planning, and may have opportunities to perform in concerts or community outreach events. This hands-on experience helps you understand the workflow of a professional choir and develop valuable leadership and organizational skills.
