Job description

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of facility equipment and operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that all production, handling, transportation, and facility equipment remain in excellent working condition while supporting safe and efficient operations.

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs, supervise maintenance personnel, maintain compliance with safety regulations, and help improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment & Facility Maintenance
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facility, production, handling, and transportation equipment.

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and prevent equipment downtime.

  • Ensure all equipment and systems are operating safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Team Leadership
  • Lead, supervise, and delegate work assignments to maintenance staff.

  • Train employees on proper equipment operation and care.

  • Monitor employee training progress and evaluate team performance.

  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding maintenance personnel.

Operational Support
  • Develop equipment maintenance schedules and present maintenance updates to management.

  • Analyze maintenance issues and recommend cost-effective solutions based on:

    • Cost

    • Timeline

    • Impact on production

    • Labor requirements

    • Short-term vs. long-term solutions

    • Overall operational efficiency

  • Partner with management to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain up-to-date maintenance procedures and documentation.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment.

Inventory & Coordination
  • Order replacement parts, tools, and equipment as needed.

  • Maintain proper documentation for purchases and repairs.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimize operational disruptions.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-4 years of maintenance, equipment repair, or related experience.

  • Experience with automotive and light truck mechanics.

  • Knowledge of fiberglass manufacturing processes and equipment.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and follow through on tasks.

  • Ability to train and mentor employees.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and distinguish between critical and non-critical issues.

Technical Skills

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Pumps and electrical systems

  • Welding and fabrication

  • Carpentry

  • Forklift operation

  • Equipment troubleshooting and repair

  • Reading measurements and performing basic layout work

  • Use of hand and power tools
