Job description

Children’s Cardiology, a subsidiary of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is comprised of more than 60 pediatric cardiologists providing comprehensive services for patients from before birth to age 21 who have acquired or congenital heart disease. The Marketing Specialist oversees content creation for company website(s), reputation monitoring and brand initiatives across multiple platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years marketing experience, healthcare marketing experience preferred.
  • Content management experience for website(s) or other similar platform(s) required.
  • WordPress or similar CMS experience required.
  • Experience with Google Business management a plus
  • Strong writing skills for overseeing content creation required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to collaborate with marketing professionals, creators, web-developers and internal departments.
  • Manage multiple projects, such as campaigns and events, under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, good judgement, and problem-solving ability.
  • Proven attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through discipline.
  • May require up to 25% travel to clinical locations and other sites.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with Marketing Manager and team to develop and support marketing strategies and initiatives for the outpatient practice. Responsible for conducting market research, staying updated on industry trends, and making recommendations for future marketing initiatives.
  • Blog Content: manage and maintain content calendar, including patient stories, physician spotlights, and educational articles. Plan topics, collaborate with manager and writer on content development, coordinate interviews, review drafts and ensure posting to kidsheart.com. Regular cadence calls with writer and review of shared tracking sheet.
  • Kidsheart.com: oversee content integrity, publish posts, optimize SEO (such as keywords, internal linking, metadata), track analytics, and stay current with WordPress best practices. Work closely with the web design & development vendor to ensure timely upgrades and site health. Ensure site meets compliance requirements including remediation of all documents. Conduct regular site clean-up and timely disposal of retired content and images.
  • Google Business Profiles: verify and maintain accurate information for all claimed profiles and handle timely updates. Monitor clinic and physician ratings, optimize visibility on Google and Google Maps. Provide regular reporting and recommendations to improve ratings.
  • Reputation Management: conduct ongoing audits across third-party platforms such as Healthgrades, WebMD, and mapping services. Coordinate with site providers to update and maintain accurate brand information.
  • Website (choa.org): maintain content accuracy on the website (choa.org/cardiology), including physician profiles, clinic locations, and forms. Work closely with Children’s marketing team and Physician Program Directors to update content for specialty program pages.
  • Email Marketing (Mailchimp): coordinate and execute email campaigns for patient communications, specialty programs, webinars, and surveys. Manage audience segments and tags, analyze campaign performance, and leverage new platform features. Schedule regular cadence calls with vendor.
  • CME Event and Webinar Recording Coordination: plan, execute, promote and document online educational events for healthcare professionals.
  • Digital Advertising Campaigns: develop and manage ad campaigns across multiple platforms such as Google and social site. Monitor performance, optimize campaigns for effectiveness, deliver regular reporting, and stay informed on current advertising trends.
  • Reporting: prepare quarterly and annual marketing reports for physicians and leadership, including content to include in the Physician Outreach Recap.
  • Digital Content Production: assist with coordinating photoshoots and videography.
  • Digital Asset Management: create and maintain a database of images, graphics, and photos.
  • Checklists (Physicians & Clinics): complete assigned tasks including onboarding, clinic location updates, retirements, and changes related to clinic openings, modifications, or closures.
  • Brand Ambassador: represent the organization at business events, trade shows, community functions, and patient education/outreach activities.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI): lead the integration of AI into marketing by identifying and optimizing AI tools/solutions that enhance content creation, campaign performance, customer targeting, and analytics.
  • Provide an overview of the Marketing department during New Employee Orientation.
  • Perform other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
