Nurses in this role provide compassionate, family-centered care in various departments such as emergency, intensive care, and general pediatrics. Responsibilities may include assessing patient conditions, administering treatments, collaborating with healthcare teams, and supporting families through medical challenges. CHKD nurses play a critical role in ensuring young patients receive high-quality care in a child-friendly environment.

What does a typical day look like for a nurse at CHKD?

A typical day for a CHKD nurse involves providing direct care to pediatric patients, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and supporting physicians with procedures or assessments. You will work closely with fellow nurses, pediatricians, and support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans, while also educating families about treatment and recovery processes. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with opportunities to work on specialized pediatric units, such as NICU or PICU.
