What is a chiropractor assistant?

Chiropractor Assistants are healthcare professionals who support chiropractors in their daily practice. Their responsibilities typically include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing records, preparing treatment rooms, and sometimes assisting with basic patient care under supervision. They play an important role in ensuring the clinic runs smoothly and patients have a positive experience. In some states or clinics, they may also assist with therapeutic modalities or exercises as directed by the chiropractor.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a chiropractor assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chiropractor Assistant, you need a basic understanding of anatomy, strong organizational skills, and often a high school diploma or relevant certification. Familiarity with scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and basic office equipment is typically required. Excellent interpersonal communication, attention to detail, and a compassionate attitude help you stand out in this patient-facing role. These skills are crucial for ensuring efficient clinic operations, a positive patient experience, and effective support for chiropractors.

What are some common challenges faced by a chiropractor assistant, and how can they be managed effectively?

Chiropractor Assistants often juggle multiple responsibilities, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and assisting with patient care. One common challenge is efficiently balancing administrative tasks with direct patient interaction, especially during busy hours. Developing strong organizational skills and being comfortable with electronic health record systems can help manage these demands. Additionally, clear communication with the chiropractor and other team members ensures that the office runs smoothly and patients receive timely care.

Job description

If you are a driven chiropractor looking for a full schedule, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to earn well beyond a traditional associate salary, this role was built for you.

Chiro 1st is a systems-driven, rehabilitation-focused chiropractic group with seven locations and recognition as an Inc. 5000 company. Our established clinics have strong patient demand, proven marketing that keeps schedules full, and highly trained chiropractic assistant and rehabilitation teams.

You can focus on delivering excellent care and leading the clinic, not chasing new patients or getting buried in administrative work.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Guaranteed first-year base salary: 120,000 USD

  • Anticipated total annual compensation: 120,000 to 220,000 USD. Actual compensation above the guaranteed base salary varies based on clinic collections, schedule, and individual performance.

  • Performance bonus: Collections-based bonus with no hard cap, creating meaningful upside for high-performing doctors

  • Signing bonus: 5,000 to 10,000 USD based on experience, qualifications, and agreed employment commitment

  • Relocation assistance: Available for qualified out-of-area candidates

  • Schedule: Full-time, 4.5-day workweek, with Fridays typically ending at approximately 1:00 p.m.

  • Medical insurance

  • 10 days of paid time off annually

  • Paid sick leave as required by Washington law

  • Up to 2,000 USD annually for approved continuing education

  • Employer-paid malpractice insurance

  • Employer-paid Washington chiropractic license renewal

  • Approved professional dues and expenses

  • Ongoing clinical, leadership, and operational training

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-informed chiropractic care within a rehabilitation-focused model

  • Conduct Day 1 and Day 2 visits, deliver clear reports of findings, and confidently recommend appropriate care plans

  • Lead and collaborate with a trained team of chiropractic assistants and rehabilitation staff

  • Use established systems for documentation, re-examinations, patient communication, and retention

  • Work with clinic leadership to achieve clinical, patient-experience, and production goals

  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely patient documentation

  • Help create a professional, accountable, and positive clinic culture

WHO THRIVES HERE

This position is an excellent fit for chiropractors who:

  • Want a clear path to six-figure-plus income without the financial risk of owning a clinic

  • Are comfortable managing a busy schedule

  • Want to create meaningful functional improvement, not simply temporary relief

  • Are coachable, performance-oriented, and comfortable working within proven clinical and operational systems

  • Communicate clearly and build strong patient relationships

  • Take documentation, compliance, and professional accountability seriously

  • Are already licensed, or eligible to become licensed, as a Doctor of Chiropractic in Washington and are in good standing

WHY CHIRO 1ST

You receive the advantages of joining an established and growing organization:

  • Inc. 5000-recognized company

  • Consistent patient demand

  • Proven marketing

  • A trained support team

  • Established clinical and operational systems

  • Leadership support and professional development

  • Significant income potential

  • No responsibility for funding overhead or building a practice from scratch

Chiro 1st handles marketing, staffing infrastructure, and business operations. You focus on clinical excellence, patient relationships, team leadership, and achieving measurable results.

Final-stage candidates will be invited to speak directly with current Chiro 1st doctors about the position, company culture, support systems, and earning opportunity.
