Job description

Liquid Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children with Disabilities (CWD) Social Worker to join a supportive and proactive team based in Trafford. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with complex needs and their families. 

As a Children with Disabilities (CWD) Social Worker, you will support children and young people aged 0-18 with permanent and substantial disabilities. You will work closely with families and multi-agency partners to assess needs, plan interventions, and promote positive outcomes.

What will your responsibilities be?

In this role, you will 

  • Complete statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989 (Sections 17 and 47).
  • Develop and review Child in Need, Child Protection, and Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.
  • Provide direct support to children and families, promoting independence and inclusion.
  • Coordinate services and interventions with education, health, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Use appropriate communication tools to engage with children and understand their views.
  • Prepare reports for Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Reviews, and court proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records using Trafford's case management system.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you must be, 

  • Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered).
  • Experience working with children with disabilities or complex needs.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and multi-agency working skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
  • Enhanced DBS and full UK driving licence.
