Job Summary
Building Blocks Learning Center is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Teacher to join our team. In this role, you'll help create a positive, nurturing environment where children feel safe, loved, and excited to learn.
As a member of our teaching team, you'll work alongside fellow educators to provide quality care and education while building strong relationships with children and families. Teachers are cross-trained throughout the center and may be assigned to different classrooms as enrollment and staffing needs change.
Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Maintain daily classroom routines, including meals, diapering, toileting, naps, playground time, and transitions as appropriate for each age group.
  • Keep classrooms clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Follow all state licensing standards, health and safety procedures, and center policies.
  • Communicate professionally with families regarding their child's day and development.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and assist in other classrooms when needed.
  • Participate in required training and continuing education.
  • Remain flexible, understanding that classroom assignments may vary based on the operational needs of the center.
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with young children.
  • Previous child care experience is preferred but not required.
  • CDA, Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, or related education is preferred but not required.
  • Must be dependable, positive, and a team player.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day, including lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain and maintain certification).
  • Must meet all Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Licensing requirements for employment.
