Job description

Performs a variety of welding processes on production materials in accordance to required specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs minor to advanced welding processes on galvanized or raw steel per print specifications. Ability to operate flame cutting equipment.
  • Selects proper voltage, current, heat, gas, and feed settings for weld operations to be performed.
  • Prepares for necessary weld operations through proper machine and jig setups. Can perform first piece inspection process using appropriate quality control tools.
  • Assures proper care of equipment is maintained and reports any concerns to supervisor.
  • Uses hoists, cranes, forklifts, or other material handling equipment to move materials as needed.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic mechanical and mathematical skills for performing operations generally gained through 1-2 years of vocational training or 2-5 years of related employment experience required.
