Position Overview

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for providing operational leadership, strategic execution, and organizational alignment across all BeWell Health entities, including BeWell Clinical Studies, BeWell Memory & Infusion, and BeWell MD. The executive leader ensures operational stability, financial discipline, regulatory compliance, and scalable growth while translating executive vision into structured execution. The COO serves as the integrator of people, process, and performance, driving accountability and maintaining momentum across departments. The role also provides executive oversight of clinical research operations, ensuring compliance with FDA, ICHโ€‘GCP, and IRB requirements while supporting study execution, audit readiness, and sustainable program growth.

Role and ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership & Execution
  • Oversee dayโ€‘toโ€‘day operational performance across all entities
  • Ensure clarity of roles, workflows, and crossโ€‘departmental accountability
  • Maintain operational continuity during periods of growth and transition
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement scalable improvements
  • Serve as escalation point for operational issues requiring executive judgment
  • Ensure clinic readiness, patient flow optimization, and system alignment
Financial Strategy & Oversight
  • Provide executiveโ€‘level financial oversight in partnership with accounting
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning processes
  • Conduct financial modeling to guide hiring, expansion, and capital decisions
  • Monitor P&L performance and ensure financial sustainability
  • Manage banking relationships and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance
Clinical Research Oversight
  • Provide executiveโ€‘level oversight of the organizationโ€™s clinical research program, ensuring alignment with strategic, operational, and financial objectives
  • Maintain highโ€‘level accountability for regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and overall research quality across all studies
  • Partner with clinical and regulatory leadership to ensure infrastructure, resourcing, and processes support sustainable research growth
  • Monitor program performance through key metrics and ensure appropriate escalation, risk mitigation, and leadership visibility
HR & Organizational Compliance
  • Provide strategic oversight of HR functions including workforce planning, compliance, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, licensure requirements, and employment laws
  • Partner with leadership to identify structural gaps and capacity needs
  • Maintain policies and procedures supporting organizational risk mitigation
  • Support development of leadership capability across managers and directors
Growth, Expansion & Strategic Initiatives
  • Evaluate new service lines, partnerships, and site expansions
  • Conduct operational and financial assessments for growth initiatives
  • Ensure new initiatives align with organizational capacity and ROI expectations
  • Drive crossโ€‘entity integration and expansion planning
Leadership & Crossโ€‘Functional Integration
  • Act as operational conduit between executive leadership and department heads
  • Serve as the Traction EOS Integrator and lead EOS execution, including L10 meetings and leadership alignment structures
  • Drive accountability through clear metrics and performance tracking
  • Maintain institutional documentation rigor and organizational clarity
  • Provide coaching and decision support to leadership team
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • 7โ€“10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in healthcare and clinical research
  • Experience overseeing multiโ€‘department or multiโ€‘site healthcare and research operations
  • Strong financial literacy, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L oversight
  • Working knowledge of healthcare and clinical research regulatory frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead crossโ€‘functional teams and drive accountability
