JOB TITLE: Principal Engineer - Composites (Direct)
LOCATION: Horsham, PA
SALARY: $170,000-180,000/year

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Direct Hire

Summary: 

  • Provide technical leadership and act as the company’s SME in composites, mechanics of materials, structural analysis, and Finite Element methods.

  • Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, ensuring quality and timeliness.

  • Guide the development of new methodologies, technologies, and processes.

  • Advise the CTO on engineering staff performance, training, and manpower planning.

  • Mentor engineering staff, promote continuous learning, and lead technical reviews.

  • Oversee major projects to ensure alignment with strategic goals and approve critical technical deliverables.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

  • Maintain relationships with external partners and represent the company at industry events.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years specializing in composite structural analysis and mechanics of materials.

  • Senior technical roles such as Technical Fellow, Engineering Specialist, or Senior Structures Analyst.

  • Advanced Engineering degree (Ph.D. preferred but not required).

  • Experience in defense/aerospace contractors or government agencies.

  • Expertise in composite materials design, manufacturing, and testing.

  • Proficient with ABAQUS (required); Mathematica and programming languages (Python, Fortran, C++) are a plus.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with proven ability to lead complex technical projects.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
