Led by Visa's Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office coordinates high-impact, complex, company-wide projects related to data business strategy, critical investments, policy development, and marketplace execution. Working closely with Visa's Chief Privacy Officer, the Technology organization, the wider data community, and the full set of Visa's global lines of business, the Global Data Office is evolving Visa's data-related work with momentum and enthusiasm. Driven by its commitment to trusted use of data, Visa is seeking enthusiastic leaders who are change-agents and passionate about the future of data around the world.

This role supports the Vice President of Infrastructure, Data Engineering, and Business Intelligence within the Global Data Office. Key duties include developing comprehensive data strategies and implementing advanced technological processes. The position requires close collaboration with senior leaders across various departments to ensure alignment and integration of data management practices throughout the organization.

Responsibilities also encompass the establishment and enhancement of robust data management practices, which will involve leveraging skills in product management, platform development, and stakeholder management. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and the application of expertise in these critical areas. It is expected that the individual in this role will contribute meaningfully to the strategic objectives of the Global Data Office by fostering innovation, ensuring data integrity, and driving efficient data utilization across the enterprise.

Essential Functions:

  • Define, architect, and execute global Data/AI management/governance platform strategy for Visa. These typically relate to scaling data products and solutions at Visa that utilize this data.
  • Manage a team of product managers, data analysts and process managers to deliver on the target architecture for merchant data.
  • Lay out the vision and strategy for each aspect of Data & AI Governance Platform starting from data quality, metadata, context layer, access rights, consent management, etc..
  • Collaborate and influence senior leadership so that you work directly impacts company strategy and direction. Liaise with various stakeholders including product managers, marketing, data science, data engineering and technology teams.
  • Evangelize technical approaches to data managementincluding agentic solutions, data quality measurement and product-led prioritization processes.
  • Build and manage a team of talented product managers, process managers and data analysts.
  • Experience working with technology and business teams on Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Architecture initiatives.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate technical insights and recommendations with business customers and leadership team.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of data strategy, data governance, and data management practices.
  • Good business acumen to orient data management to business needs of clients, including experience in the payments space.
  • Ability to translate data and technical concepts into requirements documents, business cases and user stories.
  • Good understanding of agile working practices and related program management skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills with ability to interact with different cross-functional team members at varying levels
  • Ability to learn new tools and paradigms as data continues to evolve at Visa and elsewhere.
  • Demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, team oriented, energetic, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience

  • 12+ yrs. work experience with a Master's or Advanced Degree in an analytical field such as computer science, statistics, finance, economics or adjacent areas.
  • 17+ yrs. work experience with a Master's or a PHD in an analytical field such as computer science, statistics, finance, economics or adjacent areas.
  • 5+ years of experience leading data management functions and related processes, like data engineers or data scientists
  • 1+ years of experience with cloud technologies
  • 5+ years of experience managing large, global and distributed teams to scope and deliver business outcomes preferably in a financial services of consulting setting
  • Familiarity with payments, lending and consulting is a strong plus
  • Fundamental and broad knowledge of common data management, data engineering tools and methodologies
  • Expert knowledge of technology processes for data management (For e.g. Apache Spark, Postman, Artifactory, Python, Scikit Learn, Pandas, GitHub etc.)


Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $229,000.00 to $ 400,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
