Yourmissions :
Location: Lenexa, KS
Job Summary and Purpose:
The QC Virology Technician I will ensure in-process materials and final product are tested in a manner consistent with Standard Operating Procedures and in compliance with regulations according to 9CFR.
Responsibilities and Key Duties:
• Conduct titrations, inactivation assurance, identity, and extraneous agent testing for in-process materials and final product
• Conduct testing described above in tissue culture or chicken embryos
• Preparing media and reagents for testing
• Perform mathematical calculations by using Reed-Muench method
• Performed tasks using aseptic technique to avoid contamination
• Document results concurrently and legible when performed
• Report any Out of Specification results
• Routine lab maintenance and cleaning
• Assure QC records are accurate, and compliant
• All other duties as assigned

Technical / Functional Competencies:
• Basic knowledge of Virology
• Must have demonstrable aseptic technique
• Basic skills with databases and word processing programs
Qualifications:
• Education - bachelor's degree in microbiology, Veterinary Science or equivalent; 4+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Work Experience - 1+ years in Quality Control or relevant lab experience strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Visual inspection
Working Conditions:
• Position located at the Biomune Lenexa campus in the quality control laboratory
• Required to work with hazardous materials in a safe, controlled environment
