Position: Prep Cook

Location: In person required: Palms Place 4321 W Flamingo Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89103

Shift: Open, Swing, Closing, Weekends, Holidays (Mandatory)

Starting Base Salary: $16 - $21 per hour depending on experience

Expected Hours: 10 - 30 hours per week (based upon business needs)

Supervisory: Reports to BOH Team Lead, Shift Supervisor, Assist GM, and General Manager

Position Summary:

The Prep Cook is responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining organized workstations, and ensuring the kitchen is fully stocked and ready for service. This role includes washing, chopping, measuring, and portioning ingredients, following recipes and prep lists accurately, and upholding all food safety and sanitation standards. Prep Cooks work closely with line cooks and kitchen leadership to maintain efficiency, consistency, and quality throughout the shift. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, solid basic kitchen skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards
  • Wash, chop, measure, and portion food items for daily service
  • Label, date, and store ingredients properly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, equipment, and storage
  • Assist line cooks and chefs with prep lists and daily tasks
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines
  • Support the kitchen team during busy periods as needed
  • Communicate inventory needs or shortages to supervisors
