Senior Systems Engineer, IBMi Operations, Marietta, GA
The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day implementation, management of iSeries hardware and software footprint, implementation of specialized software and customer solutions, system integrations/transitions, troubleshooting customer environments. The Senior Systems Engineer will also be reviewing and recommending systems designs and implementations for both pre-sales and post-sales deployment of customers hosted and disaster recovery systems with a in multi-tenant/managed service provider environment. This position is 100% Onsite and not open for Remote.
Responsibilities:
- Architecture and implementation of iSeries management and monitoring platforms.
- Virtual I/O server management and implementation.
- LPAR virtualization.
- Power technology and Platform design.
- System iSeries implementation and migration.
- System iSeries OS upgrades.
- PTF update experience.
- Administration of environment components including security controls, TCP/IP, BRMS, Job control, performance and capacity planning, system updates, and license management.
- Operation of tape management solutions, including physical and virtual tape libraries.
- Work closely with the Operation Support Center for process, procedural, and ITSM functions.
- Participate in after-hours escalations and 24x7 on call shifts and scheduled work.
- Guidance/Accountability to ensure adherence to company standards/policies, processes, and procedures, along with internal and SOC II security controls as defined.
- Capacity Management, Planning, Analysis, and Reporting across the Multi-Tenant Managed Services & Support Power Platform footprint.
- Ensure Customer onsite and remote support.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of technology experience with iSeries administration as a system administrator.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong communication, excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Understanding of Data Center Operations and Infrastructure Design.
