RN – PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) – PER DIEM Contract

Facility: Children’s Minnesota – Minneapolis Hospital (Minneapolis Campus)
Location: Minneapolis, MN 55404
Address: 2525 Chicago Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55404
Unit: PICU / CVICU (Pediatric & Cardiac Intensive Care Unit)
Duration: June 30 – September 11
Schedule: Block Scheduling Available PER DIEM
Shift: Variable (as assigned by unit needs)
Pay Rate: $72 – $75/hr


Job Summary

The PICU RN provides high-acuity critical care for pediatric patients, including medically complex and post-surgical cases in a Level I pediatric hospital setting. Responsibilities include continuous monitoring, medication administration, ventilator management, hemodynamic support, and coordination of multidisciplinary critical care teams.

This role requires strong critical thinking, rapid response to changes in patient condition, and experience in pediatric intensive care or equivalent high-acuity ICU environments.


Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years PICU or pediatric critical care experience (Required)

  • Experience with CVICU or cardiac pediatric patients preferred

  • Strong experience with ventilators, drips, and invasive monitoring

  • Ability to manage high-acuity, rapidly changing patient conditions

  • Strong communication and teamwork in critical care settings

  • Experience in a Level I pediatric trauma or tertiary care hospital preferred


Required Credentials
  • Active RN License (MN or Compact)

  • BLS Certification (Required)

  • PALS Certification (Required)

  • ACLS preferred depending on unit assignment

  • Pediatric critical care training strongly preferred
