Position: Chess Expert (1800+ ELO) — Game Reconstruction & Transcript Correction
Type: Contract
Compensation: $90/hour
Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and correct speech-to-text errors in chess commentary transcripts. Ensure accuracy in piece names, squares, and moves.
  • Develop complete game reconstructions from corrected transcripts using analysis boards like lichess or chess.com.
  • Determine the completeness of transcripts in specifying full games. Identify minimal missing information if necessary.
  • Collaborate asynchronously to meet deadlines and improve dataset quality. Work independently with flexible hours.
  • Enhance the quality of chess datasets for AI research by providing detailed feedback on game reconstructions.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Rated 1800+ ELO (FIDE or online equivalent).
  • Fluent in reading algebraic notation.
