Job description
The Department of Chemistry and ChemicalBiology at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is hiring Adjunct Faculty toteach CHEM1215 for the Spring 2026 semester, from March 28 through May 16, 2026on an emergent basis.
Anticipated openings will be for Adjuncts who can teachcourses in a broad range of subject areas, including but not limited to thesubject areas covered in the following UNM courses:
CHEM1215 - General Chemistry I
Please consult the UNM Catalog for descriptions of thiscourse.
The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology is seekingqualified temporary part time faculty members to teach undergraduate and/or graduatelevel classes in various disciplines as specified above. Instructors are responsiblefor all aspects of any class they are teaching. Responsibilities will includebut not be limited to meeting with the class during assigned times, deliveringthe course curriculum, developing and grading assignments, reporting grades, supervisingassigned teaching assistant(s), and assessing student learning outcomes asoutlined by the Chair of the department.
Position is contingent upon need each semester asdetermined by student enrollment levels, courses on the current course schedule,and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled oreliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or addcourses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report tothe Chair of the department.
