We are seeking a Precision Coating Intern at our Rhinelander, Wisconsin plant for the Summer of 2027. This individual will aid in the day-to-day Technical and Lab activities in a paper manufacturing environment. We offer the opportunity to work in an engaged, team-focused environment while building related skills and experience for your future.
Pay Rate
  • $27.00 per hour

Requirements
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Enrolled in an Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related degree program
  • Living in or willing to relocate to the Rhinelander, Wisconsin area for the summer of 2027 - Student Housing or Housing Stipend available
  • Ability to work full-time for the duration of the position
  • Strong desire to work within a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong technical aptitude and proven problem solving abilities

Responsibilities
  • Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
  • Support continuous improvement projects
  • Support technical (product development and quality) projects
  • Data mining and analysis
  • Assist in troubleshooting process/quality issues
  • Work with lab equipment on test method development and/or statistical analysis of quality test results
  • Support Technical lab project work
