Job Title: Epic Project Manager

Position Type: Contract through the end of July, with a planned 6-month extension

Location: 100% Remote (Preference for candidates on the East Coast; otherwise, candidates must be able to work EST hours)

Position Summary

One of our clients seeking an experienced Epic Project Manager with strong expertise in OnBase (Hyland) to lead and deliver complex healthcare IT initiatives. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end project lifecycles involving Epic systems particularly integrations with enterprise content management (ECM) platforms like OnBase ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate combines deep healthcare application knowledge, proven project leadership, and hands-on experience integrating Epic workflows with OnBase solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Epic-related projects, including implementations, optimizations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Oversee OnBase (Hyland) integration efforts with Epic applications (e.g., document management workflows, scanning, indexing, and retrieval).
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including clinical, operational, IT, and vendor partners.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment and clear communication across all levels.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO standards, governance, and best practices.
  • Facilitate change management activities, training, and user adoption strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status reporting to leadership.
  • Support system testing (unit, integrated, UAT) and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience, including healthcare IT projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Epic implementations or optimization projects.
  • Strong hands-on or functional knowledge of OnBase (Hyland ECM).
  • Proven experience with system integrations between Epic and OnBase.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in hospital systems, health systems, or large provider organizations.
  • Knowledge of interface engines (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and document workflows.
  • Experience with workflow automation, document capture, and imaging systems.
