The Process Design Engineer owns and supports process-engineering activities at the site. The role supports troubleshooting, improvement, growth, and process-safety projects; develops front-end loading (FEL) packages that define project scope; and coordinates with discipline leads and stakeholders. Typical FEL activities include equipment-adequacy checks, P&ID development, safety-valve contingency analysis and sizing, equipment specifications, hydraulic evaluations, alternative selection, vendor coordination, control-valve sizing, and PHA closeout. The role also participates in incident investigations, owns process-engineering actions, and helps translate investigation outcomes into facility-improvement projects.
Essential Functions

  • Developing MOC packages
  • Evaluate operating conditions and propose troubleshooting approaches.
  • Evaluate processes and equipment for compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Lead small capital projects valued at less than $2 million, including plant layout, equipment purchasing, construction support, P&ID walkdowns, commissioning, and startup.
  • Lead complete project-scope definition and obtain input from discipline leads and stakeholders.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.


Education Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor's Degree Chemical Engineering from an accredited university


Experience Qualifications

  • Required 5+ years experience with an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm or a petrochemical operating company

  • Required: Equipment design for pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, and control valves.
  • Required: Pressure-relief devices, including PSVs, pressure-vacuum safety valves (PVSVs), relief valves, and rupture valves.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
