Multi-Craft Technician - 3rd Shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) 

Location: Clinton, TN

We are currently seeking a Multi-Craft Technician to join our Clinton, Tennessee facility on 3rd Shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM Sunday Friday)

Position Summary 

Multi-Craft Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This role requires strong mechanical and industrial electrical troubleshooting experience, including work with motor controls, VFDs, electrical circuits, and automated manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will support production by minimizing downtime, completing work orders, and maintaining compliance with company safety and quality standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of safety. 
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. 
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, including:  
  • Motor controls 
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) 
  • AC/DC drives 
  • Sensors, relays, contactors, and control circuits 
  • 120V, 240V, and 480V equipment 
  • Maintain and repair production equipment such as mixers, extruders, dryers, conveyors, and support systems. 
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks, work orders, and equipment improvement projects through the CMMS system. 
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Diagnose equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime. 
  • Troubleshoot PLC inputs and outputs and assist with automated equipment diagnostics (PLC programming not required). 
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings. 
  • Communicate equipment status and repair activities with operators, supervisors, and maintenance team members. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and completed work orders. 
  • Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and safe. 
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong hands-on industrial electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Experience working with:  
  • Motor controls 
  • VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) 
  • AC/DC drives 
  • Servo motors 
  • Sensors, relays, contactors, and electrical control systems 
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V. 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and pneumatic diagrams. 
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC inputs and outputs (programming experience not required). 
  • Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting experience. 
  • Proficiency using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, infrared devices, micrometers, calipers, and laptops. 
  • Experience using common shop equipment and power tools. 
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email, and CMMS systems. 
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in plastics, extrusion, compounding, chemical, or manufacturing environments. 
  • HVAC experience, including process chillers. 
  • Electro-mechanical education, technical training, or certification. 
  • Experience supporting automated production equipment. 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, kneel, and climb stairs throughout the shift. 
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. 
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, and operating machinery.

  • Overtime shift coverage and on-call support may be required based on operational needs.
