Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Blending - Production Technician in Kennesaw, GA. In this project role, you will be responsible for mixing and processing chemical raw materials on a manufacturing mezzanine.
Pay rate: 17/hr - Monday to Friday. 6:30am-3:30pm

In a Blending - Production Technician job you’ll be responsible for:
Equipment Setup and Blending: 
This is the primary duty, involving tasks like:
  • Climbing onto a 12-foot mezzanine to open and pour specified amounts of powder and liquid materials into blender equipment.
  • Starting machines and mixing chemical raw materials for precise, specified times.
  • Completing setup, change-over, washing, and cleaning activities on the blending equipment.
  • Safely unloading the final chemical mixtures into containers for further processing.
Safety and Quality Control:
  • Performing critical Lockout Tagout procedures to ensure a completely safe work environment.
  • Dislodging and clearing jammed materials from machinery safely.
  • Identifying machine malfunctions or out-of-spec materials and reporting them to supervision.
  • Collecting material and product samples for laboratory testing.
  • Wearing all required safety PPE, including a hard hat, eye protection, respiratory protection, gloves, and ear protection.
Logistics and Documentation:
  • Reading and executing precise duties according to work instructions on a batch ticket.
  • Recording operational data on batch tickets and logging maintenance issues in the CMMS work order system.
  • Reviewing the Production Board to understand scheduling and daily blend assignments.
  • Moving materials and products between work areas using a forklift or a pallet jack.
  • Maintaining a pristine work area and equipment using 5S organizational cleanliness standards.

What you’ll need:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time, and work comfortably on a 12-foot-high mezzanine.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse environment following strict safety protocols and wearing full PPE.

  • Previous machine operation experience is preferred, but not required.
